Removals Service FAQ

We believe the best way to support you is by offering a flexible removals service, tailoring each move to suit your needs. Questions will naturally arise and we are happy to answer them, the selection below may help with core points.

Will you provide a free and firm quotation?

All quotes are free, as are visits to your home. By all means use our online removals quotation form, we will contact you to discuss your move and an outline of costs. Before finalising a sum, we prefer to visit you to ensure the detail of our quote meets your exact requirements.

Do you offer removals at weekends, or on an evening?

The time of day, or the day itself are not a problem, neither are overnight removals. The one point to note is that weekend moves are popular and booking early will ensure this is available.

Are the areas you move people from or to restricted?

Although we are a Surrey removals company, our growth has seen us help people across the UK, through local bases such as offering  removals in Leatherhead and our national service. Neither is there a restriction on where you move to. Anywhere in the UK or Europe is fine, we can also arrange shipping worldwide.

Do we need to pay for a full size removal van if this is not needed?

We have a wide range available, from small vans to the largest of removal vehicles. In almost all cases, the suitable size will be used and in any other circumstance, we only expect you to pay for the vehicle we agreed met your needs.

We have a number of valuable antiques, will these be looked after?

Apart from removals, we offer packing, shipping and storage specifically for antiques and fine art. Our staff are experienced in handling the most precious, or delicate of objects. Different items can require specialist techniques to ensure they are preserved, we always take this into account.

Can you pack and unpack an entire household for us?

This is a normal part of our removal service and can be the best way to move. You save time and your new home is immediately ready for use.

We work from home, can you move the business IT equipment?

We regularly move IT equipment, from individual PCs to server installations. The importance of these to your business is appreciated by all our staff, we can also call on an IT technician used to working with us if needed.

Our removal request is for a business, do you support business users?

Whether our customers are householders or businesses, we offer the same level of service. For all business removal requests, a Business Account Manager works with you to ensure minimum disruption to your business.

We need to put items in storage, can you arrange this?

Our own purpose built, secure storage centre is available to all removals clients, for a day or a year, for one item or any number. We also have specialist vehicles which drop a storage container at your home and collect later, or we can pack this for you.

Are you registered with professional bodies and fully insured?

Farrer and Fenwick are members of the British Association of Removers, the leading body for removals companies. We hold comprehensive liability insurance covering all the main activities of our company.

Will your own staff and van arrive, or do you contract out?

Our well trained staff and up to date vehicles are at the centre of our service. When you book a removal with us, you can be assured both will be provided.
